Here's How to Use Disney Vacation Club Points to Book a Disney Cruise

If you're a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member, you may know that you can use your points to book accommodations at Disney resorts or exchange them for stays at other resorts around the world. But did you know that you can also use your DVC points for a Disney Cruise? Here's everything you need to know about using DVC points to book a magical cruise vacation.

Booking a Disney Cruise with DVC Points

First, it's important to note that you can only book Disney Cruise Line (DCL) vacations with DVC points through Member Services. You cannot book online or through any other travel agency. You'll need to call Member Services at 1-800-800-9800.

Once you've contacted Member Services, they will be able to provide you with information on available cruises, itineraries, and staterooms. You can also check the DVC member website for information on available sailings.

Points Needed for a Disney Cruise

The number of points you'll need to book a Disney Cruise will vary depending on the cruise, the length of the sailing, and the type of stateroom you choose. In general, the point values for a Disney Cruise can range from around 200 points for a three-night cruise in a standard stateroom to over 1,000 points for a seven-night cruise in a deluxe stateroom.

Banking and Borrowing Points for a Disney Cruise

Just like booking a resort stay with DVC points, you can also bank and borrow DVC points to use for a Disney Cruise. Banking points means that you can save unused points from one year to use in a future year, while borrowing points allows you to use points from a future year to book your cruise.

Booking Extras with DVC Points

In addition to using your DVC points for your cruise fare, you can also use them to book some onboard extras, such as spa treatments, shore excursions, and specialty dining. However, these extras are subject to availability and may have additional costs beyond your DVC points.

Booking a Disney Cruise with Disney Vacation Club points can be a great way to enjoy a magical vacation at sea. However, it's important to plan ahead, as availability can be limited, especially during peak travel times. Be sure to contact Member Services well in advance of your desired travel dates to ensure availability and make the most of your DVC membership.
